Apparently if you're not re-creating historically correct costumes and in a creative and imaginative pose, Artisan Crafts doesn't want you.
Here's what dedredhed had to say to me when I inquired about why a work of ours was moved.
"Artisan Crafts is not about poses. It is about the art of crafting something, and costumes submitted to the gallery should show the costume work fully, and should show costumes that were made by you, not costumes that were pulled together from existing clothing. This is either a snapshot or another photography submission, as it does not focus on the craft in question."
You heard her, folks. Get out that dress form or just stand in front of a wall. You better show off the entire costume lest you want it moved entirely out of your gallery. And if there's the possibility that your creation might look like something you could buy, there's no way you could have painstakingly made that. You just picked it up from the nearest Kohl's.
As a barely use dA anymore anyway (and most of my submissions are in that catagory), I'll be packing up.
